Synopsis:

So far in the season, Don has a 9-0 record. He is perfect. But, in the upcoming duel he has to wrestle Chad Mauck who is five places ahead of Don in the state rankings.

About the filmmakers:

Jed Cowley-Writer/Director : Jed Cowley studied Film and English at Brigham Young University and currently is an MFA Film Student at Columbia University. While at BYU, Jed produced and edited various short films. He also directed an award-winning commercial for the Utah Film Commission. The Loss of a Wrestling Match is Jed`s first short film.

Ryan Cannon-Cinematographer : Ryan Cannon grew up in the Tri-Cities area of Washington State. He moved to Utah to attend the University of Utah, and then graduated from Brigham Young University with degrees in Film and English. He lives in Utah, working as a cinematographer, gaffer, and sometimes director and producer on a myriad of projects, from commercials and short films to documentaries and feature length narratives.

Johannes Gappmaier-Producer : Johannes Gappmaier was raised in Austria and moved to Utah in 1999 where he attended Brigham Young University. He graduated from BYU with a degree in Film. He has been an independent filmmaker for the last three years. The Loss of a Wrestling Match is the first film Johannes produced.

Jonathan Gappmaier-Lead Actor : Jonathan grew up in Sandy, Utah and is currently a senior at Bingham High School. He has been an all-state wrestler since his freshman year. Jonathan has devoted most of his high school career to sports, but was very excited when given the opportunity to act in a film about wrestling. The Loss of a Wrestling Match is Jonathan’s first film.
